Tolethorpe Clothing & Costume Sales

I have met so many fantastic local sellers and people since working at The Stamford Shakespeare Company, all of whom share a love for clothing and style. I wanted to create an event, sharing the opportunity to sell their preloved items alongside the Tolethorpe SSC Costume Department. Whether Costume, Fancy Dress, Handmade, Antique, Vintage, Retro High Street, High End, Designer, Couture or Fabric, the one rule is everything on sale has to be preloved.

Championing buying and trading preloved as a positive way to shop, both financially and environmentally, I collaborated with communications consultant and cofounder of Stamford’s Border Vintage, Tiffany Arntson, to create a new, local shopping experience held at Tolethorpe Hall. Organising over thirty independent sellers across five rooms, the first Tolethorpe Clothing Sale was a wonderful success, and is set to become a biannual event!
